My name is Debbie Cullinane & I am a qualified play therapist and currently in fourth year completing a  Masters in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, specialising in play with the Children’s Therapy Centre. 
 
I am a wife and parent of two.
 
My background is  primary school teaching (APII) with over 10 years experience.  I run my own private practice in Claremorris, Co. Mayo.

Play Therapy

Play therapy uses a variety of play and creative arts techniques to alleviate mild, moderate or chronic psychological and emotional issues that are causing children behavioural or other issues and/or are preventing children from realising their potential.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior, increase happiness, and overcome problems.

Parent Consultations and Support

Parenthood is hard. In parent consultations, my aim is to empower you on your parenting journey and help you to cope and manage behaviours and difficulties within your lives.

November 17th – Introducing Sensory Play into your Day on November 17th @ 8pm. 1.5 hours in duration. Cost €30pp

Suitable for Early Years Practitioners, Parents & other professionals working with children. Sensory play has countless benefits including the development of gross and fine motor skills, supporting language development, problem solving skills and social interaction. I will outline what sensory play is and why we use it with the children. It will entail simple and innovative ways of using sensory play activities, that accommodate all of our sensory systems – sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. Information will be provided on valuable resources and recipes that will make sensory play part of your daily routine. There will be exploration of the benefits of sensory. There will be an in-depth discussion on physical sensory play – our proprioceptive, vestibular and interoceptive systems – with a focus on regulation,  movement, rhythmic activities, messy play and the development of sensory trays.
